Vijay Singh will return to Australia for the first time since the 1998 Presidents Cup when he plays in the Australian PGA from December 10-13 with defending champion Geoff Ogilvy and John Daly.

The Fiji-born Singh helped the International team beat the United States in the Presidents Cup at Royal Melbourne, but has not played in Australia since.

“I have always intended to return to Australian shores and when I got the offer to play, I jumped at the chance,” Singh said in a statement.

Singh won the U.S. Masters in 2000 and the U.S. PGA Championship in 1998 and 2004.

The Australian PGA will be played on the Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed Hyatt Regency resort course featuring six new holes in a revised layout.

Ogilvy, the 2006 U.S. Open champion, claimed his first tournament win on home soil at last year’s Australian PGA.

Daly will play in both the PGA and the Australian Open at Sydney’s New South Wales Golf Club from December 3-6.
