Victory over Fan keeps Bhaskar’s chances alive

B. Bhaskar of India convincingly won his last Group C match against Fan Kian Sang of Singapore 4-1 in the ONGC 12th Asian billiards championship at the Indore Tennis Club here on Wednesday.

With this win, Bhaskar also kept his chances of making the knockout quarterfinals of the competition alive.

In another match, Nay Thway Oo of Myanmar stepped into the knockout quarterfinals after defeating Dhvaj Haria of India 4-3 in his final Group D league match.

Trailing 1-3, Haria came back to level the scores at 3-3 before going down in the decider.

Indians falter

Meanwhile, the Indian cueists were at the receiving end in the under-21 snooker event taking place simultaneously.

Rahul Sachdev was unlucky and lost 4-3 to Wan Nansen Sin Man of Hong Kong for his second consecutive defeat in the competition.

Down 0-2, Sachdev fought back to first level the match 2-2 and then 3-3 before Wan bettered him and walked away with match win.
