Two-time United States Olympic swimming coach, Richard Shoulberg, launched the ‘Week with the legend’ project on Wednesday with a session involving 46 young swimming coaches from different states.

He will also be working with selected U-18 state and national swimmers as part of a project called Glenmark Aquatic Foundation (GAF), in association with the Swimming Federation of India (SFI).

Starting with a coaches sessions at Rajiv Gandhi District sports complex in Dharavi here, the GAF will be held in other cities.

Meanwhile, SFI secretary Kamlesh Nanavati said that the junior National swimming championships will be held in July at the Balewadi Sports Complex, near Pune.

Performers at the Balewadi event will be shortlisted for a training camp, to prepare the Indian team for the Asian age group swimming event in Ranchi, slated for September 2015, he added.
