Two lifters suspended

April 13, 2011 01:09 am | Updated 01:09 am IST - NEW DELHI:

The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) has handed a two-year suspension to two Indian lifters — Sukhen Dey and Anup Deo Toppo — for testing positive for banned drugs at the IWF Continental Clubs GP in Penang last December.

Apart from the two-year ban starting from mid-December 2010, the two lifters have been fined $5000 each.

Meanwhile, the IWLF has suspended Services' Capt. S.S. Rao and R.K. Lanke, who coached the two lifters, for two years following the IWF action.
