The Indian Oil Xtra Premium Masters golf will be held at the Digboi Golf Links in Assam from Wednesday to Saturday. The event carries a prize fund of Rs. 25 lakh.
The field will have some of India’s top professionals such as Mukesh Kumar, Shamim Khan, Shankar Das (two-time defending champion), Feroz Ali Mollah, Harendra Gupta, Sanjay Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Mandeo Singh Pathania, Raju Ali Mollah and Ali Sher.
The tournament will also feature foreign players such as Mithun Perera (Sri Lanka), Zamal Hossain Mollah (Bangladesh) and Shiva Ram Shrestha (Nepal).
The Digboi Golf Links is a golfer’s delight. The course is a one of its kind in terms of ambience as it is situated among the lush tea estates and thick forest of eastern Assam.
The Links is bordering the Dehing forest reserve on three sides and the magnificent mountains of Arunachal Pradesh on the fourth.
This 72 par course with a yardage of 6329 could also be termed as the best in the north-eastern part of the country owing to its magnificent layout.
