Tamil Nadu (Group D) and Bengal women (Group C) kept up their march towards gaining quarterfinal berths with two wins each in the 14th National youth volleyball championship here on Wednesday. Defending champion Kerala (Group A) and last year's finalist Haryana (Group B) too won two matches to stay ahead of the rest in the race.

Himachal Pradesh, clubbed in Group D, has one win. Likewise, Maharashtra has also won a match to stay abreast of HP. Karnataka and Odisha women, with one win and a loss, will be looking to seal a quarterfinal place behind Kerala in Group A.

Similarly, Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand women, pitted in Group B, would be trying to hard to grab the other qualifying spot. Uttar Pradesh women, like West Bengal, have two wins in Group C. It is more or less sure that these two will qualify from Group C.

In the men's section, a clear picture emerged in Group D where last year's semifinalist Haryana and Karnataka went clear of the other teams with three wins each.
