Three in lead in National women’s premier chess championship

Top seed Eesha Karvade bounced back to defeat overnight leader Nisha Mohota with black in the 10th round of the National women’s premier chess championship at Jalgaon on Friday.

Going into the final round, Eesha has seven points, the same as Bhakti Kulkarni, the other overnight leader, who drew with Padmini Rout, and Soumya Swaminathan. Half-a-point behind the three leaders are third seed Nisha, fourth seed Padmini and second seed Mary Ann Gomes.
