Tata Open: Kabir Kanzarkar advances

Kabir Kanzarkar got past Nigel D’Sa 25-23, 13-21, 21-18 in men’s singles qualifying and entered the main draw at the Tata Open India International Badminton Challenge 2014.

Other first round winners at the CCI indoor courts were Pratul Joshi, Utkarsh Arora, Amey Joshi, Kaushal Dharmamer, Sachin Rawat and Siddharath Thakur.

The results (qualifying): Men: Pratul Joshi bt Saurav Kapoor 22-20, 21-18; Utkarsh Arora bt Rishabh Sahdev 20-22, 21 -12 (retd).

Amey Joshi bt Shrishail Mitkari 21-10, 21-16; Kaushal Dharmamer bt Ameya Oak 21-10, 21-13.

Kabir Kanzarkar bt Nigel D’Sa 25-23, 13-21, 21-18; Sachin Rawat bt Ashish Sharma 19-21, 21-15, 21-19; Siddharath Thakur bt Abhimanyu Singh w/o.
