Chinese Taipei beat Thailand 36-21 to emerge the men’s champion in the Chennai leg of the Asia Rugby Development Sevens Series at the Nehru stadium here on Sunday.

In the women’s category, South Korea beat Guam 24-19 to take the title.

The results:

Finals: Men: Chinese Taipei 36 bt Thailand 21.

Women: South Korea 24 bt Guam 19.

Semifinals: Men: Chinese Taipei 31 bt Philippines 12; Thailand 22 bt UAE 10.

Sunday’s pool matches: Pool-A: Philippines 34 bt Nepal 0; UAE 38 bt India 7.

Pool-B: Chinese Taipei 70 bt Bangladesh 0; Thailand 19 bt Lebanon 14.

Women:Pool-C: South Korea 39 bt Nepal 0; Guam 62 bt Indonesia 0; India 71 bt Indonesia 0; Guam 26 bt South Korea 10.
