Table tennis: Sreeja does India proud, wins two more medals

Akula Sreeja of India won two more medals in cadet girls category — a silver in singles and a bronze in doubles – in the ITTF Guatemala cadet and junior championship, according to information received here.

The results: Girls: Cadet: Singles: Quarter-finals: Akula Sreeja bt Harsha Vardhini 11-8 ,8-11, 11-7, 7-11, 11-6. Semifinal: Sreeja bt Cuba Valeria (Peru) 11-4, 11-5, 11-5.

Final: Sagarika Mukherjee bt Sreeja 11-6, 11-5, 11-8. Doubles: Quarter-final: Sreeja & Mori Paola (Peru) bt Belteton Marilena (Gua) & Rivera Dulce (Gua) 11-4, 11-7, 11-6. Semi-final: Harshavardhini & Aishwarya Pathak bt Sreeja & Mori Paola (Peru) 11-7, 7-11, 6-11, 11-9, 9-11.
