In a release issued here on Monday, it was recalled how the Sports Minister, while leading a delegation to the IOC headquarters in Lausanne, had conveyed the government’s support to debar the charge-framed officials from contesting the IOA elections.

The Sports Ministry had also been urging the IOA members, during consultations, to heed the advice of the IOC and change the IOA Constitution in the interest of Indian sports and sportspersons.
