Another 1-2 finish for India in cycling

India picked up another cycling gold and silver when Lidiyamol Sunny and Manorama Devi Tongbram finished 1-2 in the women’s 40km criterium here on Sunday.

Sri Lanka did well in the men’s 60km criterium where Jeevan Manjula Silva and Naveen Ruchira Appuhamy won the gold and the silver. India’s Pankaj Kumar finished a distant third for the bronze.

The results:

Cycling: Men: 60km criterium: Jeevan Manjula Silva (Sri) 34 points, 2. Naveen Ruchira Appuhamy (Sri) 24, 3. Pankaj Kumar 21.

Women: 40km criterium: 1. Lidiyamol Sunny 30, 2. Manorama Devi Tongbram 26, 3. Sudarika Priyadarshani Arachchige (Sri) 9.

Hockey: Women: India 24 (Soundarya Yendala 4, Poonam Barla 4, Rani 3, Jaspreet Kaur 3, Neha Goyal 3, Deepika 3, Gurjit Kaur 2, Preeti Dubey 2) bt Nepal 0.

Kho-Kho (round-robin league): Men: India bt Nepal 23-21; bt Sri Lanka 19-17.

Women: India bt Sri Lanka 16-14; bt Nepal 15-12; bt Pakistan 16-14.

Tennis:Men’s doubles (first round): Ramkumar Ramanathan & Vijay Sundar Prasanth bt Dipu Lal & Mohammad Anwar Hossain (Ban) 6-0, 6-2.

Volleyball: Women (group-A): India bt Pakistan 25-5, 25-7, 25-6.
