Sinha defers BAI EC meet

The Badminton Association of India (BAI) general secretary Vijai Sinha has deferred the BAI Executive Committee meeting scheduled at Lucknow on Saturday to August 10.

In a strongly worded letter addressed to the BAI president V. K. Verma, on Friday, Sinha alleged that the meeting had to be postponed after he (Mr. Verma) “categorically refused to send BAI’s assistant secretary M. K. Singh to Lucknow with relevant documents,” needed for the holding of the EC meeting.

He also claimed that Mr. Verma’s refusal amounted to contempt of the interim order passed by the Civil Judge (Sr. Division) Mohanlalganj, Lucknow on July 29.

The EC committee meeting called by Verma is scheduled to be held at Hyderabad on August 13.
