Shriyanka Sadangi pipped two shooters by 0.1 point to clinch the junior women's gold in air rifle in the International junior competition in Suhl, Germany, on Friday.

The 17-year-old shot 398 in qualification and 102.9 in the final, in beating Amelie Perment of France and Nadine Ungerank of Austria.

Tejaswini Muley, who had topped the qualifiers with a total of 399, could muster only 100.8 in the final and missed a medal by one point.

The trio of Shriyanka, Tejaswini and Meghana (391) tied for the top spot in the team rankings with 1188 points but Austria pipped the team for the gold on a better count of inner 10s by 93 to 84.

In fact, Apurvi Chandela shot 394, but she was not part of the team for India.
