Shooting World Cup: Manavjit Singh Sandhu and Ayonika Paul miss medals

Former world champion Manavjit Singh Sandhu was in the hunt for the gold, but eventually missed the bronze by one point in the World Cup final shooting in Gabala, Azerbaijan, on Friday. Ayonika Paul endured similar heartbreak in the women’s air rifle event.

The 37-year-old Manavjit was pipped to the bronze medal by Alberto Fernandez of Spain 15-14.

Women: 10m air rifle: 1. Yi Siling (Chn) 207.7 (417.4); 2. Andrea Arsovic (Srb) 207.4 (418.0); 3. Wu Liuxi (Chn) 185.6 (418.0); 4. Ayonika Paul 165.7 (418.2).
