Sharath Kamal wins U.S. Open

A. Sharath Kamal won the biggest title of his career when he won the US Open table tennis championship by beating Slovakia's Keineth Thomas in the final in Michigan.

Sharath won 11-9, 5-11, 8-11, 9-11, 11-8, 11-5, 11-9.

Sharath and Subhajit Saha finished runners-up in the men's doubles.

Three more titles came India's way when Sanil Shetty (under-21), Utkarsh Gupta (boys u-13) and K. Spoorthy (girls under-13) went all the way in their respective sections.
