Sharanjeet and Jeena dazzle in India’s win

M.S. Sharanjeet Kaur (22 points) and P.S. Jeena (17) sparkled as India defeated Kazakhstan 82-65 for its second victory in the FIBA Asia under-18 girls basketball championship at Johor Bahru, Malaysia, on Sunday.

Jeena had top-scored with 28 points in India’s first victory, a 93-53 verdict over Singapore earlier. India is playing in the championship’s second division (Level II) and will meet Hong Kong on Monday.

The results: India 82 (Sharanjeet Kaur 22, P.S. Jeena 17, P.G. Anjana 13) bt Kazakhstan 65; India 93 (P.S. Jeena 28, R. Rajaganapathi 20, S. Limaye 12) bt Singapore 53.
