Commonwealth Judo Championship 2010 gold medalists Navjot Singh Chana, Yashpal Solanki (Punjab) and Ramshrey Yadav (Uttar Pradesh) are among 700 judokas to compete in the Senior National Judo Championship 2010-2011 on March 26, 27, 2011.

The event will be held at the Andheri Sports Complex and conducted by Mumbai Judo Association under the auspices of Judo Federation of India. Participants include representatives from state, paramilitary forces, army and railways, among who will be Asian Judo and South Asian Judo medal winners.

Manipur’s Anita Chanu (Asian Championships medallist), Manipur’s Kalpana Devi (silver medallist at World Cup) Tombi Devi (silver medallist at the Asian Championships), UP’s Garima Choudhary (bronze medallist at 2010 Commonwealth Games) are prominent names scheduled to take part in the forthcoming Sr Nationals, according to a MJA media release.

Hemant Nagrale, IPS, is the Chief Patron, Moez Mohamedally is the Organising President and Cawas the Organising Director.

According to Organising Secretary, Manohar Bangera, the Nationals promises action at top pace. “It will be a feast of high level judo. The level of techniques has improved dramatically. Swift, dynamic throws and techniques will be seen during the bouts.”
