Except for the newcomer to the senior team, Seema Verma, the rest of the Indian archers were disgraced in the recurve elimination round on the second day of the World Cup (Stage I) archery competition at Porec (Croatia) on Wednesday.
Seema was the lone Indian to reach the quarterfinals where she lost to Korean second seed Ki Bo Bae 0-6.

Among the men, Asian Games silver medallist Tarundeep Rai managed to enter the pre-quarterfinals where he also lost to top seed Korean Oh Jin Hyek 3-7.
Of the other Indians, National champion Viswash was the worst culprit losing in the first round to unknown Tim Freriks of The Netherlands 0-6. National women's champion Deepika Kumari, ranked fifth, lost 4-6 to Katrina Lipiarska of Poland ranked 32 places below her.
Commonwealth Games gold medallist Rahul Banerjee lost to 57th-ranked Hugh MacDonald of Canada 2-6 in the second round.
Gold medallist at Porec in 2006 and 2009, Jayanta Talukdar, despite being in 19th place, fell to 99th-ranked Bulgarian Vencislav Velikov 4-6.
Eleventh-ranked L. Bombayla Devi was defeated by 22nd-ranked Maja Buskbjerg Jager of Denmark 3-7 in the third round and Rimil Buruily, qualifying in 51st place, lost to 62nd-ranked veteran Alison Williamson of Great Britain, silver medallist at the Delhi Games, 2-6.
Three records set
American compound archers set three world records. Men's individual champion Reo Wilde improved on his own World record of 708 set in April with 711 points. The men's team set a new World record with 2116 points (2112 set in April).
With a total of 2083 points the compound women's team eclipsed the World record set by Italy at the European Grand Prix in Antalya in April (2044).
Chinna Raju Srither and National Champion Namita Yadav were the best among the Indians.
Srither took the 36th place with a total of 692 points. Namita was 19th with 675.
Chittibomma Jignas (687), Isaiah Rajender Sanam (685) and Ritul Chatterjee (679) took the 57th, 60th and 71st berths respectively.
The Indian team was ranked 12th with a total of 2064. Jhano Hansdah was the second best Indian woman occupying 20th spot with 675. Gagandeep Kaur was 26th with 673 and Bheighyabati Chanu was 55th with 646.
India ended sixth in the ranking with a total of 2023. The Indian mixed pair of Srither and Namita was placed 12th with 1367.
