Sanjeev Rajput shot 1144 out of 1200 and ended up 10th in the 50-metre free rifle 3-position event in the shooting World Cup in Changwon, Korea.
Two-time Olympian Rajput, who had won the gold at the same venue two years ago with a national record 1176, missed the final by eight points.
The reigning Asian champion in the 3-position event, the 32-year-old Rajput had shot 382 in kneeling, 394 in prone and 368 in the standing position.
Overall, it was a satisfactory outing for the Indian team, as Rahi Sarnobat won the gold in the women’s 25-metre sports pistol while Prakash Nanjappa won the bronze in men’s air pistol.
India fourth
India finished fourth in the medals table, among 12 teams that won medals. China topped the table with four gold and four silver, while Germany was second with three gold and a silver. Serbia and Vietnam were the other teams to win gold.
