Ritul, Jyothi triumph

Ritul Chatterjee and Jyothi Surekha, both from Andhra Pradesh, took honours in the boys and girls’ 50m events of the Compound bow category of the junior National archery championship at the GMC Balayogi Stadium (Gachibowli) in Hyderabad on Saturday.

Ritul won the boys’ title with a score of 698 points while Rajat Chouhan and Ravi Sharma, both from Rajasthan, finished second and third respectively.

In the girls’ section, Jyothi Surekha ensured there was double delight for the host when she stole the show in the 50m event with 671 points.

The results: 50m: Boys: 1. Ritul Chatterjee (AP) 698 pts, 2. Rajat Chouhan (Raja) 687 pts, 3. Ravi Sharma (Raja) 687 pts.

Girls: 1. Jyothi Surekha (AP) 671 pts, 2. Madhumita Kumari (Jhar) 661 pts, 3. Maselo Mihu (Arunachal) 660.
