Olympian Sanjeev Rajput made the final of the men’s 50m free rifle 3-position event in the shooting World Cup in Fort Benning, USA.

Though the 33-year-old placed fifth — his score of 422.0 was 0.8 off Dane Stefan Olsen’s score — he had the satisfaction of finishing ahead of two Olympic champions Matthew Emmons of the US and Zhu Qinan of China.

Sanjeev had shot 1166 in the qualification phase with 393 in kneeling, 398 in prone and 375 in standing positions. He wound up the knock-out final with a 10.8, which had proved inadequate to keep him in contention.
