Rain plays spoilsport

October 20, 2012 01:30 am | Updated 01:30 am IST - Chennai:

Inclement weather led to the abandonment of the third day of the Raymond-India International Regatta here on Friday.

Ireland’s Patrick Cosbie (with two points) leads the overall standings in the Laser 4.7 class.

In the 29er fleet, Ganapathy and Varun Thakkar(four) have dominated the field. In both these categories, four races have been held and only one more needs to be conducted to complete theseries.

In the Optimist class, where only two races have been finished, Vishnu Sujeesh is ahead with three points.

While the weather was unrelenting, it was a typical day for the Irish minus the cold. — Special Correspondent
