Raam Prasad D. Kota (39 pts.) carried his winning form into the second week by edging out K. Prabhu Shankar (38) for the top spot in the premium category (+2-14) in the Eastman Trophy golf tournament at the par-72 Coimbatore Golf Club course in Chettipalayam here on Sunday.

With a fair bit of pruning, the course looked excellent. It played fast and true and the golfers enjoyed right through. But, Raam went about doing his job patiently to take the day’s honour.

Last week, Raam Prasad had clinched the Shri P.S. Ramachandra Iyer and P. Narayanaswamy Iyer Trophy, which was played in the medal round format at the same venue.

“I am happy to have won back-to-back titles. It has certainly boosted my confidence,” said Raam, who started with a par and ended with a bogey.

“The conditions were pretty windy but thankfully I had a good flow today,” he added.

The two-day tournament, which was played on a Stableford format, attracted over 100 golfers.

Gautham Selvaraj topped the 15-24 with a better second half score.
