ONGC (Dehradun) and KSEB (Thiruvanathapuram) lifted the men and women's titles respectively in the fifth all-India invitation floodlit volleyball tournament, organised by Mangala Friends Circle in memory of Shivaprasad Baliga a here on Sunday.
In the men's final, ONGC defeated BPCL (Kochi) 25-22, 25-19, 25-23, while the KSEB women defeated Sports Authority of India (Thalassery) 25-14, 22-25, 25-14, 25-19 for the title. IOB (Chennai) men and Sports Hostel (Mysore) women finished third in the men's and women's section respectively.
The results: Men: Final: ONGC (Dehradun) bt BPCL (Kochi) 25-22, 25-19, 25-23. Third place: IOB (Chennai) bt Customs (Kochi) 25-23, 25-22, 23-25, 24-25, 15-10.
Women: Final: KSEB (Thiruvanathapuram) bt SAI (Thalassery) 25-14, 22-25, 25-14, 25-19. Third place: Sports Hostel (Mysore) bt St. Joseph's College (Thrissur) 25-16, 22-25, 25-23, 25-23.
