OGQ to sponsor Mary Kom

Four-time World women’s boxing champion, M.C. Mary Kom joins the list of sportspersons on the Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ) sponsorship.

The 27-year-old Manipuri signed a contract till the 2012 London Olympics. She is expected to take part in London, where women’s boxing is an Olympic medal sport for the first time.

OGQ will be working closely with the Indian Boxing Federation, informed founder Geet Sethi. “IBF has been helpful and we look forward to working with them very closely to promote our boxers. We want to reassure Mary Kom and all our athletes that OGQ is supporting them all the way. We want them to feel like champions and psychologically prepare like champions.”

Mary Kom said: “It is a dream for me to get the opportunity to box at the biggest stage in the world and now, the contract with OGQ has arrived at the perfect time. I can now concentrate fully on my training and preparations for the Olympics without having to worry about money, medical support, nutrition and proper facilities.”
