The spruced up Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium, sans the air conditioning, could be a worrying factor for the organisers and players alike.
But Mumbai Masters spokeswoman Ramya Vanakina brushed it aside.
“There is no worry about the driftt,” she said on the eve of her team’s crucial clash against Awadhe Warriors Lucknow in the Vodafone IBL here on Saturday.
Light workout
Mumbai, which lost to Hyderabad Hotshots in the clash of the top-two teams in the six-team league on Thursday, opted for a light workout here this evening. Awadhe Warriors on the other hand opted to rest after its 4-1 win over Krrish Delhi Smashers.
Masters lost to Hyderabad 2-3 and has some catching up to do. “There is no strategy switch despite the loss,” Ramya stressed. “The team is in top fitness,” she added.
Masters played P.C. Thulasi against top Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal in the women’s singles against Hotshots. But that experiment is unlikely against Awadhe’s P.V. Sindhu.
Sindhu too, after her World championships bronze-winning effort, seems to be under tremendous pressure to perform and hardly had time to rejoice in her success. On Saturday, however, a lot hinges on her singles play.
Going into this match, Mumbai has 13 points from four matches, while Awadhe has shrugged itself out of the bottom place and is on eight points.
