Olympian Neha Agarwal survived a familiar battle with her varying levels of self-confidence to keep Tamil Nadu's N. Vidya at bay for a place in the women singles second round of the National table tennis championship here on Friday.

Neha, who has tossed away several matches in the past two years from the threshold of victory, managed to score a 4-2 triumph.

After taking a 3-0 lead, Neha committed a series of errors to slump to a 1-11 loss in the fourth game. The unseeded Delhi girl lost the extended fifth game before moving up.

The day saw all fancied players, in both sections, advance without much ado.
