National squash championship: Ghosal, Chinappa given pride of place

India’s crack squash players, Sourav Ghosal and Joshna Chinappa, will be the top seeds in the men’s and women’s sections of the 60th National squash championship beginning at the Calcutta Racket Club in Kolkata from Tuesday.

Harinder Pal Singh will be seeded No.2 on the men’s side and Anaka Alankamony on the women’s. Both the men’s and women’s singles will feature a draw of 16.

The qualifying rounds will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday. The main round will begin on Thursday.

The seedings:

Men: 1. Saurav Ghosal, 2. Harinder Pal Singh, 3. Mahesh Mangaonkar, 4. Ravi Dixit.

Women: 1. Joshna Chinappa, 2. Anaka Alankamony, 3. Sachika Ingale, 4. Vrishrutyi Sahni.
