Muniyappa dead

B. Muniyappa (67), a member of the Indian team at the 1967 South Asian basketball championship, died of heart attack here on Monday.

A permanent member of the state basketball team in the ‘60's Muniyappa was the architect of many a triumphs that Karnataka tasted at the National championships during that period.

A qualified NIS coach Muniyappa identified and groomed talent over the last few decades.

The Karnataka Basketball Association deeply condoled his death.
