Minati bags top honours

Minati Sethi outshone Sanamacha Chanu to claim the top honour in the women's 53-kg category of the National weightlifting championship at Udaipur on Tuesday.

The results: Men: 56-kg: 1. V. Srinivasa Rao (snatch 105kg, clean and jerk 139kg, total 244kg), 2. Sukhen Dey (108, 135, 243), 3. Mayur Sinhasane (107, 125, 232); 62-kg: 1. N. Sunil Kumar (123, 147, 270), 2. Omkar Otari (121, 143, 264), 3. Rustam Sarang (115, 148, 263); 69-kg: 1. K. Ravi Kumar (136, 170-NR, 306-NR), 2. G. Elumalai (135, 160, 295), 3. P. Rambabu (125, 147, 272); 77-kg: 1. I. Bishorjit Singh (137, 165, 302), 2. C.P.R. Sudheer Kumar (137, 164, 301), 3. Pradeep Sharma (132, 167, 299).

Women: 48-kg: 1. Soniya Chanu (75, 100, 175), 2. M. Santoshi (72, 91, 163), 3. Sandhya Rani (71, 91, 162); 53-kg: 1. Minati Sethi (75, 99, 174), 2. Sanamacha Chanu (76, 95, 171), 3. N.
