Mary Kom’s suspension revoked

Four-time world champion M C Mary Kom’s suspension, for “unsporting behaviour” after her quarterfinal loss in the ongoing Women’s National Boxing Championship, was revoked on Wednesday.

Secretary of the Indian Boxing Federation PKM Raja told reporters that IBF has decided to revoke the suspension after a meeting here.

Mary Kom, who was representing the All India Police Board (AIPB) at the domestic meet, lost her cool after her surprise defeat to Pinky Jangra of Haryana in the quarter-final on Monday.

Mary Kom, who was recently honoured with country’s highest sports award ‘Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna’, allegedly used “unsporting” language against the judges and was promptly suspended till October 27 from all boxing activities by the IBF.
