Mary Ann Gomes won the International Woman Grandmaster Open chess tournament here on Thursday. The third-seeded Kolkatan drew her final round encounter with Keti Tsatsalashvili of Georgia to take her tally to 8.5 points.
Two others, second-seeded Nino Batsiashvili of Georgia and fourth-seeded S. Vijayalakshmi, also finished with 8.5, but Mary’s superior tie-breaker score gave her the title.
