Malhotra hails Randhir's appointment

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) acting president, Vijay Kumar Malhotra, on Friday hailed Randhir Singh's appointment as vice-president of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC).

Randhir, who is the secretary-general of the IOA as well as the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), was elected to the post at the ANOC General Assembly in Moscow last week.

The meeting also elected Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah as ANOC president.

Sheikh Ahmad is the president of the OCA.

Randhir said he would be representing the Asian continent in the ANOC and he would try to raise the standard of sports in the continent.
