Lajja shoots 578 in rifle 3P

Lajja Gauswami shot 578 and missed the final by four points in the women’s 50-metre rifle 3-position event in the shooting World Cup at Baku, Azerbaijan, on Monday. Lajja shot 190 in kneeling, 196 in prone and 192 in the standing position, in being placed 14th in a field of 49 shooters.

In men’s skeet, former Asian champion Man Singh shot 74 following a series of 24, 25 and 25 to be in the fourth place at the halfway stage.

There were two shooters on 75 and nine on 74 with two more rounds to be shot before the knock-out phase on Tuesday. Mairaj Ahmad Khan had rounds of 25, 24 and 24 for a total of 73.

Sheeraz Sheikh shot 71.

In women’s skeet, National Games champion Rashmee Rathore shot 67 following rounds of 24, 23 and 20, and missed the knock-out by four points. She was placed 22nd in a field of 34.
