Women’s discus thrower Krishna Poonia bounced back to a reassuring 58.32m while finishing third in the CVOTC meet here on Monday. Poonia is chasing the Rio entry standard of 61m and she had gone down to 54.88m in her previous event.

Meanwhile, the Indian women’s 4x400m relay team, comprising Debasree Majumdar, Ashwini Akkunji, M.R. Poovamma and Anilda Thomas clocked 3:31.52s at the Polish National Championship at Bydgoszcz on Saturday.

The Indian quartet is currently well placed in the 13th spot in the Rio Olympics ranking list. The top 16 will qualify for Rio.

The men’s mile relay team of Kunhumohammed, Muhammed Anas, A. Dharun and Arokia Rajiv were timed at 3:04.84s. Since the team ran alone, the time will not go into the Rio list.
