Kothari, seven others, get direct entry

One of the country’s most talented cueists, Sourav Kothari, along with seven others Indians, have been given direct entry into the World professional billiards championship in October.

Kothari, along with Geet Sethi, Pankaj Advani, Devendra Joshi, Dhruv Sitwala, Rupesh Shah, Ashok Shandilya and Umadevi, will be part of a big Indian contingent at the October 18 to 28 meet at Leeds.

These players apart, India will also be fielding Siddharth Parikh, B. Bhaskar, Arun Agarwal and Alok Kumar along with National junior champion Dhvaj Haria and top woman player Arantxa Sanchez.

Kothari said this time around the Indians would be playing in both time format as well as points format (150 up) in the Worlds.
