Keerath makes knock-out stage

Keerath Bhandaal has qualified for the knock-out (top-6) stage in the World under-21 snooker championship at Al Fujaira in UAE.

Keerath played three matches in Group A, and, by virtue of beating compatriot Saniya Arif who lost all her three matches, qualified third from her group.

Varshaa Sanjeev lost her second match, going down 0-3 (54-42, 76-17, 52-43) to Russian Daria Sirotina.

In the boys’ section, Dhvaj Haria has won three of the four matches and currently tops his group.

OTHER RESULTS (Indians only): Anatasia Nechaeva (Rus) bt Keerath Bhandaal 77-32, 76(36)-10, 68-39; Siripaporn Nuanthakhamjan (Tha) bt Saniya Arif 55-10, 56-7, 78-30.
