Jeev finishes tied 54th in Canadian Open

A wretched back-nine marred Jeev Milkha Singh’s card as he turned in an even-par 70 in the final round to end tied 54th in the RBC Canadian Open golf tournament here.

The seasoned Chandigarh pro finished with a total of three-under 277.

It was perfect start to the proceedings as Jeev slotted a birdie on the first hole. After making pars on the next six holes, the Indian gained consecutive shots on the eighth and ninth to make the turn three-under.

Things, however, went awry in the back-nine as Jeev stumbled to three bogeys — on the 14th, 15th and 17th — to round off the day on a disappointing note.

Swede Carl Pettersson bagged the top honours after returning his best card of the week — a 67 — to total 14-under 266.

American Dean Wilson signed off a stroke behind Pettersson at the second spot with a 72 in the final round.
