The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has given the green signal for the suspended Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to go ahead with the election on September 29, and have its extraordinary general meeting on Aug. 25.

In a communication released by the IOA here on Friday, IOC director-general Christophe de Kepper stated the IOC would send two representatives to attend the EGM.

IOC honorary member Francisco J. Elizalde and head of IOC Institutional Relations (NOC Relations Department) Jerome Poivey have been nominated to attend the meeting which is expected to ratify the revised IOA Constitution.

The IOC has also agreed to fulfil its commitment of issuing its comments on the new IOA Constitution by the middle of this month.
