India's future is bright: Karlsson

Former European table tennis champion Peter Karlsson is optimistic of the Indian players making their presence felt at the world level should a “structure be put in place” in times to come.

Speaking at the inauguration of a coaching camp here on Monday, Karlsson said, “The future of India's table tennis is very bright.”

In the country at the initiative of Stag International, Karlsson, a former world doubles champion and a member of the Swedish National team which won the World championship four times, is holding a week-long camp ending on July 3 at the Abhay Prashal Indoor stadium here. There are 72 players and 10 coaches in the camp spread over 24 tables. Karlsson is being supported by eight-time National champion Kamlesh Mehta.
