Indians add 5 bronze in Asian Junior Weightlifting

Indian lifters on Monday added five bronze medals on the second day of the Asian Junior Weightlifting Championships held at Bangsaen, Thailand.

In 77kg junior men category, Kojum Taba won a bronze each in clean and jerk (162kg) and total lift (285kg). In women’s 63kg category, Punam Yadav bagged a bronze each in snatch (87kg), clean and jerk (114kg) and total lift (201kg).

Harshdeep Kaur finished fourth in women’s 53kg with a total lift of 165kg (74+91).

On Sunday, Saikhom Mirabai Chanu had won three sliver in women’s 48kg category.
