The Indian women's compound team, comprising Gagandeep Kaur, Parveena and Jyothi V. Surekha, was no match to second seed Italy in the bronze medal play-off in the World Cup Stage 1 archery meet at Shanghai on Sunday. The Indian trio lost 217 to 230.

A 7 by second shooter Parveena in the first end and another 7 by third shooter Jyothi in the second end set back India's challenge. The Italians consistently hit the yellow circles (10 or 9) to runaway an easy winner.

On Saturday, Indian women's recurve team finished with silver losing to Korea. The same Indian team had beaten Korea in the World Championship semifinals at Turin (Italy) last year.
