Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has acquired the broadcast and digital rights for the third Indian Open World-ranking snooker tournament, to be held in Hyderabad from July 4 to 9.

The daily live telecast on Sony Six will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., besides live streaming of all matches on Sony LIV.

The Indian Open, a professional ranking snooker tournament, was launched in 2013, and apart from Indian cueists Geet Sethi, Pankaj Advani, Aditya Mehta, to name a few, the event attracts some of the world’s best exponents of the green baize game.

As the host nation, six Indians will be given wild cards.

Capt P.V.K. Mohan, Billiards and Snooker Federation of India president and head of the International Billiards and Snooker Federation, said: “BSFI in its new partnership with SPN is excited about the prospects that are likely to develop in cue sports.

“The Indian Open is highly rated among the ranking events internationally.”
