Indian men break National record, enter final

The Indian men’s 4x400m relay team, comprising Kiran Murugan, Harsh Kumar, Pankaj and P.A. Amol Jacob, broke the National junior record and progressed to the final at the World under-20 athletics championship on Saturday.

The team finished fourth in its first round heat in 3:08.89s and was sixth overall after the two heats which were virtually the semifinals.

The women’s mile relay team of Taisha Sammadder, V. Subha, Shaharbana Sidhique and Jisna Mathew also finished fourth in its first round heat in 3:45.07s but failed to progress further.
