The Indian women’s kabaddi team won its maiden Asian Games gold medal defeating Thailand in the final here on Friday.

India comfortably won 28-14 at the Nansha Gymnasium. Women’s kabaddi is making its debut at the Asian Games.

Men scoop gold

Indian men’s kabaddi team won gold for the sixth consecutive time at the Asiad. India beat Iran 37-20 and maintained their winning streak in the sport since its introduction in 1990. Their win took India’s gold medals tally to 12.
