Sheeraz Sheikh helped India to the team bronze, but placed fourth in the skeet event of the Asian shotgun championship here on Saturday.

Outside

Sheeraz made the final through a shoot-off, but finished outside a podium place with a 33.

In the team event, Mairaj Ahmad Khan, Angad Vir Singh Bajwa and Sheeraz helped India to 347, seven points ahead of Japan.

Kuwait and Kazakhstan finished with three more points than India but won gold and silver respectively after the count-back.

The results: Men: Skeet: 1. Saif Bin Futtais (UAE) 53 (119), 2. Alexandr Yechshenko (Kaz) 49 (118, 8), 3. Makoto Yokouchi (Jpn) 41 (118, 8), 4. Sheeraz Sheikh 33 (118, 8); 7. Mairaj Ahmad Khan 118, 7; 18. Angad Vir Singh Bajwa 111.

Team: 1. Kuwait 350; 2. Kazakhtan 350; 3. India 347 .
