India, despite leading by two sets, lowered its guard at a crucial stage and lost 2-3 to Spain in the FIVB World junior volleyball championship at Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday.
The 25-21, 25-17, 21-25, 12-25, 17-19 loss saw India, the World No. 7, finish eighth in the championship.
Wing spiker T.D. Ravikumar (21 points), Dhanabalan Selvaprabhu (17) and Kataryia Lavmeet (16) were the leading scorers for India.
