C.C. Athira and Nishya Joseph impressed as India defeated Mongolia 25-7, 24-26, 25-5, 25-21 for its second Pool ‘B’ win in the Asian junior girls’ volleyball championship at Nakhon Pathom, Thailand, on Tuesday.
For the second successive day, Athira was India’s leading scorer with 16 points. India had opened its campaign with a straight-set victory over Vietnam earlier.
Meanwhile, nine-time champion China also defeated Vietnam in straight sets for its second win in the same pool.
