India downs Sri Lanka

After a shocking loss to Myanmar, India recovered well to defeat Sri Lanka 25-13, 25-15, 25-19 in a match for positions nine to 16 in the Asian women’s volleyball championship at Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, on Tuesday.

The victory helped India, which had beaten the Philippines earlier, top the four-team Group ‘H’ and it will now play Indonesia on Thursday for positions nine to 12. There are no matches on Wednesday.
